Achadaphail Croft self catering holiday cottage accommodation on the Isle of Mull.
Achadaphail is a stunning location:- situated on a croft on the Ross of Mull in the Inner Hebrides with a panoramic view to the north to Staffa and the Treshnish Isles. It is situated on the Ardtun peninsula, just 1 1/2 miles from Bunessan and 6 miles from Fionnphort where the ferry leaves for the Island of Iona.
Mull is a truly magical place. It has a dramatic coastline and a variety of scenery, ranging from the high basaltic plateau of the north, to the rounded granite hills of the "Ross of Mull", in the south-west. The "Ross of Mull" is unspoiled by roads. This makes it an ideal destination for bird watching and observing the unique Hebridean wildlife, which roam free in their natural environment. Explore the many "white sandy" coves and beaches on the "Ross" and on Iona, which are washed by the waters of the Gulf Stream.
The ancient leaf-beds preserved on the Ardtun peninsula, and the dramatic sea arches formed near Carsaig are some of the geological sites worth visiting.
Iona is a sacred Isle, steeped in Christianity and history. It possesses a unique atmosphere. Sanctuary from the bustle of life can be found at the famous abbey, which is the ancient burial ground for the forty-eight Scottish Kings.
Staffa -(meaning "Pillar Island"), can be reached by a short boat trip. It is one of the natural geological wonders of the world. Fingal's Cave is the most spectacular feature and was made famous by Mendelssohn's Music.

Ben Hall Photography
Ben Hall has gained worldwide recognition as one of Britain’s foremost professional wildlife photographers. By focusing almost exclusively on the British Isles, Ben has developed an intimate understanding of our natural heritage and how best to represent it visually. His images are often surprising, always striking and ever striving to awaken people to the diversity of Britain’s magnificent natural world. He is described by “Living Edge” magazine as ‘a passionate and experienced wildlife photographer, with a perfectionist’s eye for detail’.
With an intense, almost evangelical, passion for the natural world, nurtured since early childhood, Ben has used his skill in photography to capture many stunning images. He is driven by the need to protect and preserve Britain’s last fragile ecosystems, as testified by his work with the RSPB and various Wildlife Trusts and other conservation organisations.
Ben’s personal approach to wildlife photography lies in the creative art of ‘seeing’. His aim is to use his pictures to communicate his personal vision, to generate an emotional response and to excite the viewer’s aesthetic sensitivity. He often pre-visualises a particular image in his mind before setting out to photograph it. To realise this vision by turning it into a photographic image can take weeks or even months, and often sees him returning frequently to the same location to capture the perfect shot.

All of Ben’s photographs are true representations of what he saw, nothing is added which is an important part of his philosophy. Ben’s spectacular images have earned him numerous prestigious international awards and his one man exhibition in Manchester, extended by popular demand had thousands of visitors over the course of a year.
Ben is a regular photographic and editorial contributor to clients as diverse as BBC Wildlife, Practical Photography, Outdoor Photography, Photography Monthly, Professional Photographer, Digital Photographer, Digital Camera magazine, Digital SLR User, Birds Illustrated, Birding (USA), Birdwatch, The Grebe (Cheshire Wildlife Trust), Living Edge, Birds (RSPB), The Countryman, Peak District magazine and Cheshire Life.
Ben has also been made Vice President of Cheshire Wildlife Trust and has appeared on numerous radio and television programmes including BBC 1′s Walk On the Wild Side.
In-between taking images for commissions and agencies, Ben runs wildlife photography workshops, using his personal coaching style to inspire others to see Britain’s natural landscapes the way he does.
His images are sold world-wide through the following international agencies: Getty Images, RSPB Images, Alamy Images and Nature Picture Library.

Austin Thomas Photography
My name is Austin Thomas and I am a photographer based in North West England.
Since an early age, I have been interested in nature, wildlife and the great outdoors, often spending many a happy hour walking in the fresh air with a pair of binoculars.
All of that changed in 2007, when I decided to purchase a camera. I now seem to get up even earlier, spend half of my life in a hide, view wildlife through a camera lens and spend the other half in front of the computer. In 2008 I joined a camera club, Wigan 10 Foto Club, which has enabled me to diversify photographically and learn new skills. Entering photographic competitions nationally and internationally has broadened my exposure to the world of photography.
I use Canon equipment, having started life with a Canon 300D in 2007, later migrating to a Canon 30D, Canon 1D Mark III, and then to the Canon 1D Mark IV that I use today.
I have had many images published both nationally and internationally and have contributed to the BBC Wildlife Magazine.
In 2010 I did some work for the BBC, which resulted in a short feature that was broadcast on the local BBC News. That video clip can be seen here.
Thanks again for visiting. If you have any comments or questions please don't hesitate to contact me

Kirk Norbury Photography
My name is Kirk Norbury and I’m a young Wildlife and Landscape Photographer from Liverpool, England. I’ve been doing wildlife photography for about 4 years now and have loved every second. I started loving wildlife since the day I was born, brought into family of farmers and countrymen being outdoors just came naturally to me! My earliest memories of nature are going out on the local marshes early in the morning with my dad to watch the geese and ducks coming in.
When I’m out with my camera I try to capture the true essence and true nature of the wildlife that live in our world and educate people everywhere on how important these incredible animals are. Every time I look down through the viewfinder I am looking into the life of the subject, I am witnessing a glimpse of their soul and their behavior which I find truly fascinating and a huge honor to be allowed access into their lives.
I have spent hours and hours watching wildlife even before I started photography and from them years of practice I have gained skills in understanding my subject and the field craft skills in being able to photograph them without disturbing them or causing stress to them. The welfare of the animal always comes first I believe so I feel learning the skills to patient and knowing how to not been seen by the subject will pay off in the long run.

RSPB
Their work is driven by a passionate belief that we all have a responsibility to protect birds and the environment. Bird populations reflect the health of the planet on which our future depends.
The need for an effective bird conservation organisation has never been greater. Climate change, agricultural intensification, expansion of urban areas and transport infrastructure, and over-exploitation of our seas all pose major threats to birds.
The RSPB could not exist without its supporters and members. Whether you join us, give a donation, purchase items from us or undertake voluntary work, your support is vital to the future of birds and the places where they live.

The Complete Birding Holiday in the Gambia
The Gambia is one of Africa’s smallest nations and at 11000 square kilometres is just over half the size of Wales. The shape of the country is long and thin, pointing like a finger into the continent and following the course of the River Gambia from which the country took its name.
Unlike many African countries it is quite safe to go out alone and explore all this wonderful country has to offer. Nothing is rushed here – life moves at a slower pace and The Gambia has its own GMT – Gambia Maybe Time! You are guaranteed to meet some of the friendliest people found anywhere on the African continent. That’s why The Gambia is known as The Smiling Coast.
The Gambia is generally recognised as having one of the most agreeable climates in Africa – subtropical, with dry and rainy seasons. Expect hours of glorious, uninterrupted sunshine between the months of October and June when the daytime temperatures can climb over 40 degrees Celsius inland, with the coastal area slightly cooler as the Atlantic breeze gently lowers the temperature.
The rainy season lasts from July to September although most days will have sunny spells. The temperature is very slightly warmer than during the dry season.

Welcome to Joan Egert´s Web Place
Joan Egert is a catalan-spanish-german wildlife photographer and book author with a life long interest and passion for anything which crawls, flys and swims around in our poor misstreated planet earth.
The same way as you he feels sometimes discouraged when he wittnesses just greed and ignorance in the way our politicians manage our natural resources without thinking about the dumping place we are transfering to our descendants.
After dealing during many years with all type of
living creatures (running a rabbitfarm, keeping sheep and birds plus breeding exotic reptiles like snakes and lizards) he is now 100% dedicated to
wildlife photography and to publish nature books.
His trips have taken him to Thailand, Malaysia, Kenya, Senegal, Botswana, Zimbabve, Costa Rica, Argentina and different European Countries, specially around his homeland Catalonia in Spain.

Wild Bird Photography in Greece by Panos Oikonomou
" Birding in Greece for years has given me many exiting moments, unique experiences and vivid emotions. Bird watching and photographing birds has also given me the chance to travel and see another unknown to many,Greece. Due to its geographical location, my country has still got a rich avifauna but for many species of birds and animals the future seems uncertain.
In contrast to bird watching, photographing wild birds in their natural environment in Greece is not always an easy subject.
The birds frightened by ruthless killing, are usually nervous and keep staying at longer distances compared to other European countries. That's why the use of long telephoto lenses is often a must.
The wild birds and animals of Greece must be protected and shown in any way and at any cost. For all photos of this web page extra care was taken in order to cause minimum disturbance to the birds. All material was taken by photographing wild free birds and animals in their natural environment. No photos from zoos or wildlife hospitals were used.
This site, which is the result of many years of work, is dedicated to my daughter Alkyone.
Special thanks to Mr. Roy Clarke for his precious help."

Barry Meade Photography FRPS, AFIAP (Wildlife and Landscape Photography)
I became involved with photography while studying Fine Art and used it as a recording tool. During my early years as an art teacher photography became a consuming passion as well as part of my teaching work. By the 1980's I was involved in large format landscape work and very original creative pieces stretching darkroom techniques to their limits.
From 1985 I have been exhibiting widely, including one-man shows in Dublin and the Royal Photographic Society, Octagon,Bath. For many years I ran workshops at the RPS in Bath and as far away as Malta.
I became a Fellow of the Royal Photographic Society in 1990 and was awarded the 1991 Fenton Medal of the RPS. Work from this period can be found in collections in the UK , Europe and North America. I gave up full-time teaching in 1998 and I am now involved with photography full-time. Since 1998 I have had the time to develope my Wildlife Photography, much of which, has been accepted in International Exhibitions in the Uk and around the world.
All my work is taken on Nikon cameras and lenses and is now entirely digital.

Bristol Photographic Society
The Bristol Photographic Society is one of the oldest photographic groups in the Bristol area. The origins of the Society can be traced through to a number of mergers in the early 1900s and today it is still actively providing a vigorous programme catering for the wide photographic interests of its members. The Society is fortunate in owning its own premises and is thus able to encourage complete freedom in providing a variety of separately run programmes: basic photography courses, meetings, outings, folios, competitions, specialist groups, a library and studio facillities, all held in a friendly and convivial atmosphere. The Society meets every Wednesday at 7-30pm.

James Lynch a professional painter for 30 years
Have a look at James paintings, you will be amazed.
James Lynch was born in 1956 and has been painting professionally for thirty years. From his first sell-out exhibition in the 1980’s he went on to win awards and prizes from the Royal Academy, the Elizabeth Greenshields Foundation and the Spectator. His patrons include the National Trust, the Folio Society and many eminent private collectors. He exhibits regularly with the Maas Gallery in London. He became known in the 1980’s and 90’s for his monumental animals set in visionary landscapes, but his recent work focusses on the Somerset and Dorset landscape and its different moods at times of day, seasonal light and dramatic weather.James paints using the ancient medium of egg tempera. He mixes traditional gesso from raw ingredients and makes his paint according to Quattrocento recipes, using pure ground pigments, egg yolk and water. The paint is built up in thin layers and the surface hardens to one of the most durable and lightfast there is, with a sheen which gives a translucent glow to the colours.
"One can hardly imagine a more laborious, slow-maturing process. It probably accounts for the extraordinary sense of balance Lynch achieves in his work as though he is placing us at the still centre of the moving world."
John Russell Taylor, The Times Art Critic James is married to painter, Kate Lynch, and they live on a hill overlooking the Somerset Levels and Moors where his studio commands breathtaking views over King’s Sedgemoor towards Glastonbury Tor. His interest in paragliding provides inspiration for his paintings.
He welcomes enquiries, commissions and studio visits.

THE NEW FOREST EXPLORERS’ GUIDE
Hello, and welcome to the New Forest Explorers’ Guide, a web site designed for those who want to know more about the New Forest, its landscape, history, wildlife and villages.
My name is Andrew Walmsley and I’ve produced the site to share with others something of the special characteristics of this old hunting Forest. I hope all who browse here find the contents informative, but more importantly, enjoy the experience.
Some, though, might have misgivings about anything that attracts others to an already popular area, but surely the majority of those with a genuine interest in the subjects dealt with here should be made welcome, for they will respect and care for this and other such places. However, not everybody is well-meaning, and even today wildlife is threatened by collectors and over-enthusiastic visitors to fragile habitats. Consequently, the exact location of rare species is not revealed unless already well-known.

Walking in Etruira
Ciao!
Let me introduce myself. I’m a biologist who works in many areas. I’m a wildlife specialist, a walking guide, an environmental educator and a naturalistic tour planner.
Since I was a child, I showed a strong interest in nature. After high school, I decided to enrol in biological science at the University of Pisa, where I received my diploma. At the same time, I developed a passion for hiking, bird watching and environmental research. I explored many areas, rich in wilderness, of Italy and other countries, such as Algeria, Morocco, Syria, Venezuela, Nepal, Great Britain, Finland, Germany, France, Spain, Portugal and Turkey. I work freelance for different nature conservation organizations, tour operators, schools, public institutions and many companies acting in environmental fields. In the last fifteen years I’ve devoted myself to studying nature, landscapes, history and traditions of my extraordinary land. I mean Etruria of course! With this website, I hope to communicate all my passion for excursions, not only walking but also knowing, understanding, discovering and evolving.

Brinvale Bird Foods online
Hello, and welcome to Brinvale Bird Foods online.
We are Hilary & Andy Wiles, and we run our arable farm with our eldest son Richard here at Brinvale Farm in the Vale of Belvoir Leicestershire. Our youngest son Alex also helps us out in our busy office during holidays from University.
We launched Brinvale Bird Foods wholesale in January 2004, quickly followed by our website in the Spring, initially coping with the extra work load within the farm staff. We now employ a small team of people dedicated to producing and packing our bird foods, with extra help from the farm staff when required.
We have always taken a keen interest in the wildlife on our farm, ensuring hedges and hedgerows are managed to provide a natural habitat for birds and other wildlife, also ensuring the hedges here around the farmyard are left higher to protect the resident barn owl from the passing traffic.
Wherever possible, we use seeds grown on our own farm or source them locally. We stock an amazing range of wild bird foods, from seed mixes and insect products to peanuts, fat & suet products, and foods for caged birds and pigeons. We also stock a range of bird feeders to help you feed our products to your wild garden friends, and we offer FREE delivery for all mainland UK orders weighing over 10kg.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank all our regular customers for their continued support, and to thank those of you who take the time to email us to congratulate us on the service we provide.
Thanks for visiting this page, and thanks for shopping with us!
