Hi, I'm Alan Saunders, a wildlife photographer based in Stockport with nearly 23 years experience. I've always been interested in wildlife and the natural world, My passion for wildlife started back in 2003, when I read a book called “Last Chance to See” by Douglas Adams and Mark Carwardine, there was a TV series around their travels looking at species on the verge of extinction. I was very lucky to spend the day with Mark Cawardine at WWT Martin Mere, where I had an exhibition running for a month, this exhibition ran in tandom with me running 3 workshops a day for 2 days, and the reward from Martin Mere was a day with Mark Carwardine, who was also doing workshops around that time. Talking to him was very inspiring. Throughout my website you will see images of wildlife I've taken from around the UK, from the Shetland isles, Isle of Harris, Isle of Uist, Isle of Mull, Isle of Arran, Isle of Skye, mainland Scotland and all over England. My favourite destination in the UK is the Isle of Mull, if the weather conditions are right, it is a wildlife photographer’s paradise, with White Tailed and Golden Eagles flying around, and Otters in most of the Lochs, where else would you want to be, there is always something to photograph. My images have been used in book publications and have featured in many magazines.
Kit - Canon camera 1DX MKII, lenses are the Canon 600mm f4 MKII, Canon 100-400mm MKII, Canon 24-105mm MK1, Canon 2x MKIII converter, a Gitzo GT3543LS Carbon fibre tripod and x1 Wimberley Head.
